![]() Click to view banner-use video. ![]() Banners or flags have many uses in worship: spiritual warfare, declaring Who God is, pleasuring Him, more. We are lavish in our worship. Why? Because the Lord is worthy! He is worthy to be celebrated; He is worthy to be honored with every part of our being; He is worthy to receive our highest praise. Did not David dance with all his might before the Ark of the Lord? When his wife, Michal daughter of Saul, despised him in her heart for this, did not the Lord's chastening fall on her for the rest of her life? Consider all the events you have ever cheered wildly for. Why then would it be appropriate for us to be pious and reserved before our creator, who pours out His passionate love on us, surrounds us with His glory, covers us with His righteousness, fills our lives with all good things? Should we not pour ourselves out before Him? Do not kings and others in high places enjoy it when lavish pageantry is presented in honor of them? How much more so our God when we celebrate Who He is, before His throne of grace. Our banners express back to Him some of the things for which we are thankful: His Spirit, His shed blood, His identity, His royalty, His glory, His forgiveness, the power He has given us against the evil one, that He has written our names in His book of life, much more... Make a joyful noise unto the Lord all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing... Ps. 100
